Darwin doesn't usually sleep with the cats, so it was odd to see him crawl in bed with Dickey last week. We said our last goodbye to Dickey on Monday and Darwin is curled up in the bed again. 😭 Dogs are amazing. We don't deserve them.

A different kind of freedom ride today as Dickey is free from a body that no longer serves him. Freedom from failing kidneys and bad joints. From incontinence and seizures. He will be missed 💔 RIP, Dickey. Thanks to Dr. Ryan Robinson @freeenergydr and the amazing staff at @thecreeksidevet for making the transition for Dickey as comfortable as was possible.

This little lady was the sweetest cat with the biggest eyes. I met her and her mom in 2015 and became their pet sitter. The family moved away in 2022, so I had 7 years to love Chinny. As a pet sitter, I get to know and love many pets, so the loss of one means something. Though I had not seen her in 2 years, I can't tell you how touched I was that Chinny's mom reached out. I hope Chinny is now laying in a cloud garden, chasing butterflies and drinking water from crystal glasses. @meredithsafarik

Buddy is such an easy going, laid back dog. He's a great pillow and gets along with dogs and cats (cats make him a little nervous, though). He wants all the attention, as does Oakley, so there's some competition between them - friendly competition. I swear she gives him an "I win" smirk at the end of the day, though because she can jump onto the bed and he can't (yet). Once he loses some weight she may not be the only one on the bed 😁 Buddy is 2 years old and healthy overall, just a bit overweight. Meet Buddy! He's a super sized chonk, but as sweet as he can be. Lone Star Animal Welfare League has taken him in and will make sure he finds the best home possible. Buddy's family found themselves in situation they did not ask for and his mom reached out for help. Thankfully, Laura McConnell was able to give Buddy's mom peace of mind and we will be fostering. Buddy is 2 years old and about 15 lbs overweight. We will be working on his diet and he will get regular exercise. He's a very laid back boy, gets along with our cats and dogs. We won't officially have him until the first week of May, but will be happily posting more.
